Ralph J. Herbert, 87
of Main Street, Woodland died on Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at his residence.
He was born on August 22, 1915 in Woodland, PA, a son of the late J. Fred and Lydia (Wilkinson) Herbert.
Mr. Herbert retired in 1980 from Harbison-Walker Refractories after 46 years of service.
He was a member of the former Main Street United Methodist Church in Woodland and a charter member and secretary of the former Woodland Lion's Club. He also was a former member of the Woodland-Bigler Water Authority.
He is survived by two daughters,
Paula Read Clearfield
Phyllis Mullen and husband Donald Allentown
three grandchildren,
Henry Lefler, Ralph Lefler and Cynthia Kunesman
2 great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Mellott) Herbert on
July 9, 1980 and whom he married October 6, 1934 and brothers and sisters, Anna, Eugene, Margaret, Fred and Catherine .
Graveside services will be held at the Bradford Cemetery in Woodland on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. with
Rev. Charles J. Swenson officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 6 - 8:00 PM.
