Randall Kurtz, DC
To all my family and friends, this is notification that my physical host has expired. This event occurred on Sunday, December 15 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After being conceived by my parents, Austin L. and Donna J. (Shaw) Kurtz, I was subsequently welcomed into this world in Clearfield, PA on November 29, 1948.
I was fortunate enough to have spent my developmental childhood years in the 1950s and 1960s when our nation was at its peak and life was good. After graduating from Clearfield Area High School, I attended and received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1970. I subsequently attended Penn State University before obtaining my professional license. In June of 1972, I opened an office and established my practice in Saint Marys, PA. In 1977, I also established a satellite office in Emporium, PA. For the next 44 years, I was afforded the opportunity to assist in naturally improving the health and well-being of thousands of individuals and families through Chiropractic care. To all of you, I sincerely appreciate the confidence you had in letting me participate in your health care needs. To that end, I would often muse on how the benefits of the natural health care you received allowed you and loved ones to go on and do wonderful things for others (ie. the "butterfly" effect).
Besides my parents, I was predeceased by my maternal grandparents Hiram and Bessie (Buck) Shaw; and my paternal grandparents Frank Kurtz and Bessie Carlson Kurtz Speer. Surviving are my beloved wife Barbara Hubler Kurtz, three daughters: Julia (Will) Rodriguez, Abigail (Rob) Billotte, Emily (Scott) Bolasky, and my son Ryan Kurtz; five grandchildren, Rachel Horn, Oliver and Lucy Billotte, Alice and Carolyn Bolasky. In addition, two brothers, Larry (Deby) Kurtz and Dennis (Peggy) Kurtz also survive me.
I was fortunate enough to have lived my life in a vocation that enabled me to go home every night gratified. I served my fellow man while providing for the needs and comforts of my family. I lived stress free and was able to enjoy a modest, low-key lifestyle. I loved nothing more than the simple pleasures of travel and being on the open road. I experienced the world by taking the scenic route to each and every destination that I traveled. As they have shown me, I'm confident that each of my progeny have all the necessary tools to carry on with success and happiness. I am grateful for my life and feel that I served my purpose quietly without seeking adulation. As a pragmatic optimist, I believe a person's soul is energy and will carry on eternally. Therefore, I look forward to beginning my next assignment, whatever it may be, with the same dedication and work ethic.
During this interim, it is my directive that there will be no public services. My physical host will be disposed of with minimal adverse effects to the environment. Do not solely depend on whatever God it is that you worship. Our continued existence on this planet is entirely up to the individuals who inhabit it. I believe that there was a supreme being that originally created this planet. However, out of that "spark" became the moment that every living creature that eventually evolved on this earth had to live in harmony while determining the key on how to perpetuate our existence.
Best wishes, good health, and peace for all!
