Raymond J. Leigey, 72, of Clearfield died on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
He was born on November 1, 1946 in Clearfield, a son of the late Raymond and Grace (Keller) Leigey.
Raymond was a sheet metal fabricator for 22 years at Dentech Inc., Lancaster County.
He was a member of the Kerr Addition United Methodist Church.
Leigey served with the U. S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was part of the 432nd Engineering Squad at Udorn RTAFB, Thailand.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce M. (Showden) Leigey whom he wed July 16, 1966 in Clearfield; a son, Robert Leigey and wife Mandy of Myerstown; a daughter, Rebecca Hynd and husband Alex Jr. of Osceola Mills; three grandsons, Weylin Leigey, Kayden Hynd, and Dominic Hynd; two brothers, Roger A. Leigey of OH, and Allen S. Leigey and wife Rev. Brenda of Woodland; two sisters, Joyce Miller of Clearfield, and Verlee McCracken and husband David of Woodland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Maude Luzier and Amos Keller; and paternal grandparents, Edith Shirey and Elmer Leigey.
A memorial service will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Friday at 11 AM with Pastor Mark Brower officiating.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Kerr Addition United Methodist Church.
