Rebecca E. Hagy, 93, of Curwensville died on Monday, August 8, 2005 at Marion Manor I in Curwensville.
She was born on June 15, 1912 in Grampian, a daughter of the late Joseph Warner and A. Blanche (Moore) Wall.
A 1929 graduate of the Clearfield High School, Mrs. Hagy was a homemaker and returned to this area in 1995. She was formerly employed at Havertown Dry Cleaning and had been an inspector for the Third Ward, Fourth Precinct in Haverford Township for the elections from 1984 to 1994. Prior to that, she had been a watcher and clerk at the polls.
She was a member of Grace Chapel in Philadelphia for over fifty years and was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Curwensville. She also was a member of the Pomona Grange #33, Penn Grange #534 and the Curwensville General Federation of Women's Club and was a volunteer with the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.
She is survived by three children, Charles W. Hagy of Valatie, NY, Dorothy N. Thompson of Vancouver, WA and Miriam L. Utter of Worthington, OH, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren a brother and two sisters, Lynn Wall of Altoona, Margaret Coulter of Stronach and Millie Scumaci of NY and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Hagy in 1992 and whom she married February 28, 1942, a great grandson, a sister Ruth Snyder and four brothers, Joseph, Jim, Ralph and Donald Wall.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Stephen P. Shields officiating. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 7-9:00 PM and on Saturday from 1-2:00 PM.
