Rev. Maurice E. Korb, 90
most recently of Curwensville and formerly of Chestnut Grove died on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at Marion Manor II, Curwensville.
He was born on July 4, 1915 in Chestnut Grove, a son of the late Joseph and Mildred (Smith) Korb.
Mr. Korb was the pastor of the Adamsville Baptist Church in Adamsville New York for 35 years and was a pastor locally in churches in Kylertown and Winburne. He was also employed by General Electric for 25 years.
Rev. Korb attended the First Baptist Church, Curwensville.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter, David Korb and wife Ingrid of Wheaton, IL, Gary Korb of Curwensville, Sharon Scheirer and husband Robert of Pembroke, NH;
Seven grandchildren, Gretchen Korb- Nice and husband Jobe, Josh Korb and wife Amy, Micah Korb and wife Molly, Lisa McDowell and husband Ross, Kevin Scheirer and wife Carrie Ann, Karen Scheirer and Kristen Scheirer; and 6 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Aldine Spencer on May 25, 1987 and whom he married May 30, 1942, a brother and five sisters, Nevin Korb, Elma Thomas, Ruth Weber, Virginia Duck, Inez Clover and Janice Wamsley.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Curwensville on Saturday at 2:30 PM with Rev. Daniel M. Osterhout officiating. Interment will follow in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Grampian, RD.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Saturday from 10:00AM - Noon
