Rex Rothrock

Rex A. Rothrock, 86, of Mineral Springs died on Monday, March 19, 2007 at DuBois Regional Medical Center - West.

He was born on November 8, 1920 in Graham Township, a son of the late Edward B. and Bertha Mae (Kyler) Rothrock.

Mr. Rothrock was employed all his life by the former Harbison Walker Refractories, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church having served in many capacities.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, he served in the South Pacific.

He is survived by his wife, Clara J. (Knepp) Rothrock, whom he wed November 23, 1939 in Bald Eagle Valley; three sons, Scott Alton Rothrock and wife Bonnie of Vienna, OH, Delmont M. Rothrock and wife Patricia of Sun River, OR and Sidney A. Rothrock and wife Sally of Pleasant Valley; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jessie Rothrock of Dallastown, PA and Robert Rothrock of Waterford, MI; a half sister, Avenell Rought of CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Randolph Rex Rothrock, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three brothers Clark Rothrock, Burton Rothrock, and George 'Joe' Rothrock, Sr., a half brother Ivan Kyler and a half sister Irene Husted.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Charles J. Swenson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post # 6 and the Clearfield VFW Post #1785 honor guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 10-11:00 AM

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to charity of one's choice.
