Richard C. Fannin, 69
of Clearfield died on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Altoona Regional Medical Center.
He was born on April 19, 1943 in Ridgway, a son of the late Richard P. and Frances (Cover) Fannin.
Mr. Fannin had been most recently employed at the Tool Shed, Clearfield. Previously, he had retired as a submarine sailor from the US Navy in 1987 after beginning his service in 1961.
He was a member of Clearfield Veteran's of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post #1785 and the American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6, Clearfield, and also a member of the Fleet Reserve Association.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene L. (McCall) Fannin whom he wed September 5, 1975 in Export; four children Richard F. Fannin and wife Kim of GA, Nicole Clemons and husband Joseph, Stacie Myrter and husband Edward and Dustin Fannin and companion Tiffany Knight, all of Clearfield; seven grandchildren Andrew, Shauna, Dakota, Jace, Allison, Carter and Tucker; and two brothers, Raymond Fannin and wife Connie and Ronald Fannin and wife Vicki, both of Ridgway.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Chad Fannin.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 541 Graham Station Road, Philipsburg, PA 16866.
