Richard H. "Dick" Norris, 78 of Bells Landing died on Friday, November 7, 2008 at DuBois Regional Medical Center - West.
He was born on August 3, 1930 in Kerrmoor, a son of the late Harold and Hazel (Owens) Norris.
Mr. Norris was employed in the coal industry as a coal broker for Benjamin & Spencer Coal Co.
He attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Curwensville and served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Miller Karolick Norris, whom he wed at Grampian in July of 1981,
two daughters,
Karin Gill and her husband Gary of Clearfield
Robin Smith and her husband Timothy of Curwensville
ten step daughters,
Gail Melis, Pat Smith, Laurie Knutsen, Rebecca Dugan, DeDe Krawzyk, Rita Parise, Carol Czerniec, Donna Greenhut, Judith Rugg, and Kathy Rahimly
26 grandchildren including,
Emmy Barnum, Jay Cowder, Justin Cowder, Ashley C. Smith, Nathan Krawzyk
and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Monday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. with Rev. M. Bruce Dimmick officiating. Interment will follow in the Lumber City Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 4-7 p.m. and on Monday, Nov. 10, from 10-11 a.m.
