Rita Bass

Rita D. Bass, 71, of Clearfield passed away on February 14, 2025 at her home.

She was born December 10, 1953, the daughter of Floyd and Mable (Rowles) Miller.

She was a past member of the Clearfield County Planning Commission, Lawrence Township Planning Commission, and the Clearfield Jefferson Association of Realtors. She also worked on the campaigns for several local politicians.

Rita had a tremendous work ethic. She began her career in the bakery at Super Duper (hence our love for donuts). She then furthered her education and became a licensed Real Estate Agent going to work for CP Realty. She moved on to work with her dear friends at Amon, Shimmel & Walsh Real Estate the remainder of her career. Realty was the perfect profession for her as she was such a social person and loved working with people. We cannot tell you how many times people have said to us "We love your mom, she sold us our first house". She would often work a second or even third job as necessary to provide for us as she always wanted the best for her children. Amazingly, as much as she worked, she never missed a single event of ours. Growing up she was the "cool" mom that most of our friends loved. As time went on her attention changed to spoiling her grandchildren, she loved them more than they will ever know.

In her spare time, she enjoyed dressing up, socializing, cooking, baking, decorating her home and working on her extensive landscaping.

She is survived by two children Isaac (Deanna) Graham of Curwensville, and Andrea 'Jeanie' Hill of Dauphin Island, AL; three grandchildren, Hailey Graham, Chase Graham, and Ally Graham; and companion and caregiver Mark Sopic of Clearfield. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Mark for the amazing care he provided to her.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 6 PM.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 3-6 PM.

Interment will be in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville.
