Robert Thomas Bassaro

Robert Thomas Bassaro (Bob), 82, of Atco, NJ, formerly of Clearfield, PA, died on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Allegria at the Fountains, Atco, NJ.

Bob was born on May 5, 1942, in Heilwood, PA, the son of the late Vender B. and Susanne (Mekulsia) Bassaro.

Bob worked at different companies throughout the years as an Industrial Engineer, including Target Sportswear for over 25 years, Paris Uniform Services, and Aqua Penn Spring Water. After Bob’s retirement in 2012, Bob and his wife, Mary Ann, relocated to South Jersey to be closer to family.

Bob enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson. He loved Penn State football and was a tailgating pro after attending games for over 40 years. He loved watching the Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees baseball. Bob also enjoyed the outdoors, working in his many gardens with his wife of 57 years and many walks on the beaches in NJ and FL. 

He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Sheridan and husband Jim, and Christine Brandt and husband Ken; four grandchildren, Timothy Sheridan and wife Elyssa, Elizabeth Sheridan and fiance Alex Psilakis, Lauren Brandt, and Evan Brandt; and a great-grandson, Owen Scott Sheridan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Pollick) Bassaro, on November 20, 2022, and whom he wed on July 31, 1965, in Heilwood, PA. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin Bassaro.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 12 PM with Fr. Robert J. Horgas as celebrant. A private burial will be held at the Calvary Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield, on Friday from 10 - 11:30 AM.
