Robert R. Ellinger, 82, of Bigler died on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 29, 1935 in Lumber City, the son of the late Ray and Beryl (Straw) Ellinger.
Mr. Ellinger was a conductor for ConRail for 13 years. Prior to that, he was employed as a truck driver with numerous companies around the Clearfield area. In his spare time, Mr. Ellinger loved watching Western's, especially 'Gunsmoke' and 'Bonanza'.
He attended the Church of the Nazarene, Philipsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Williams) Ellinger; three daughters, Robin Waseleski and husband Edward of Hedgesville, WV, Laurie Tubbs and husband Gregg of Columbia, MD and Betty Davis of Falls Creek; six grandchildren, Robert Waseleski and wife Jamie, Edward Waseleski, Dylan Tubbs and wife Kristin, Evan Tubbs, Rainnee McElwee and husband Cody, and Kirk Davis; five great grandchildren, Madilyn and Logan Grace Waseleski, and Keith, Cheyenne and Ella McElwee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Reuben Smeal; his sister, Betty Sample; and a son-in-law, Edgar Davis.
A memorial service will be held at the Clearfield Alliance Church on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11 AM with Rev. Robert Goldenberg officiating.
Friends will be received at the church on Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 10-11 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, PO Box 550, Clearfield or to the charity of one's choice.
