Robert Lope, Sr.

Robert W. Lope Sr., 83, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born on April 27, 1924 in Munson, a son of the late Pasquale and Annie (Wilkerson) Lope.

Mr. Lope was the owner of Bob's Distributor Co. He then was employed at Dott's Motors, Clearfield and Strattan Motors, Clearfield, from which he retired.

He was affiliated with the protestant faith and attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Clearfield Lodge No. 314, the Chinklacamoose Square Dance Club and the Antique Car Club.

He is survived by his wife, Jean (Lucas) Lope, whom he wed September 9, 1943 at St. Francis Rectory, Clearfield; two children, Robert Lope, Jr. and wife Linda of Curwensville, Lynda (Lope) Hudson and companion Jeff Rauch of Spring Valley; two grandchildren, Scott Lope of Tampa, FL and Shannon (Lope) Irwin and husband Spencer of Curwensville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Margaret Peters and Sara Jane Hall.

He was last remaining member of his immediate family.

Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde with Dr. Duane A. White officiating. Interment will follow at the cemetery.

There will be no public visitation.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield PA 16830.

The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield is in charge of the arrangements.
