Robert L. Schucker, 82, of Clearfield died on Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born on May 25, 1930 in Clearfield, a son of the late Roy and Viola M. (Dunlap) Schucker.

Mr. Schucker was employed from 1984-1997 as a Special Project Engineer for Virgin Island Water and Power Authority. Prior to that, he built the power plant in Dover, DE and was an Electrical Manager for the City of Dover from 1971 until 1984. In addition, he was employed as an Electrical Co-Op Engineer in Denton, MD and as an Engineer for Yost Surveying of Clearfield.
He attended Pennsylvania State University and was a former chairman for the American Red Cross in Clearfield. He was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, a past Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #540, Clearfield, a past Commander of both the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6 and the American Legion Caroline Post #2, Denton, MD, and served as the bi-county commander of the Clearfield and Centre County American Legions. In addition, he was a member of the Free and Accepted Masonic Temple Lodge #128 in Denton, MD and was the president of the American Power Association.
Mr. Schucker served with the U. S. Navy during the Korean conflict.

He is survived by his companion Elizabeth P. 'Betty' Buckell; three children Foster Schucker and friend Susan of Exton, Cynette Cavaliere and husband Tom of Penfield, NY and David N. Schucker and wife Debbie of Dover, DE; seven grandchildren, Michael, Heather, Jennifer and Pamela Schucker, Thomas III and Tory Cavaliere and Tim Schucker; three sisters Gladys Knepp of Houtzdale, Peggy Rhone of Clearfield and Betsy Goulet of Carlisle; and two brothers James Schucker of Clearfield and David Schucker and wife Jean of OK.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia 'Jane' Schucker and a sister Mary Jane McClarren.

A memorial service will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday at 4:00 PM. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the Clearfield VFW and American Legion Post Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 - 4 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 South Front Street, Clearfield.
