Robert G. Showden, 75
of 33 Bald Hill Road, Frenchville died on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at his residence.
He was born on October 12, 1927 in Pottersdale, PA, a son of the late Isaac and Kathryn (Michaels) Showden.
Mr. Showden was employed as a bulldozer operator in the coal strip mines having last worked for the former Fran Contracting.
He was Protestant by faith.
On July 8, 1954 in the Keewaydin Lutheran Church he wed the former Martha Moore who survives along with a son,

step granddaughter,
Brandy Longe Karthaus
sisters and brothers,
Dorothy Luzier Clearfield
Vera Louise Smith Clearfield
John Showden Clearfield
Isaac Showden New Bethlehem
and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Ira Showden, Lewis Showden and Donald Showden and his sister Madeline Stahlman.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday at
11:00 A.M. with Rev. Donna J. Wolfinger and Rev. H. Lee Hebel co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Gillingham Cemetery, Frenchville.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Sunday from 2-4:00 PM and on Monday from 10-11:00 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church Building Fund, PO Box 65, Karthaus or charity of one's choice.
