Robert Ardell "Bob" Snyder, 87, of Hyde died on Monday, October 15, 2007 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.

He was born on December 28, 1919 in Blue Ball, a son of the late Jonathan and Mary (Walk) Snyder.

Mr. Snyder was employed by Howe's Leather Company, Curwensville for many years.
A veteran of the US Army, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge while serving during WW II.
He was a member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6.
He was a Christian by faith.

He is survived by five children, Nancy Smith of AZ, James W. Snyder of OR, Robert L. Snyder of MA, Janet Mills and husband Darrel of West Decatur, Sally Hauptner and husband Ned of Brockway; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elva Catherine (Leigey) Snyder on May 13, 1996 and whom he married April 11, 1942 in Woodland and also by eight brothers and six sisters.
He was the last member of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Christine Freeman-Frank officiating. Interment will follow in the Gillingham Cemetery, Frenchville.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1785 honor guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-9:00 PM and on Friday from 1-2:00 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to charity of one's choice.
