Ronald Ogden

Ronald J. ‘Buzz’ Ogden, 73 of Clearfield died on Monday, March 5, 2007 at his residence.

He was born on November 7, 1933 in Clearfield, a son of the late Harry Albert and Mary (Bressler) Ogden.

Mr. Ogden retired in 1999 from Howe's Leather Corp. after 36 years of employment. He was also an independent trucker for 10 years.
He attended the First Baptist Church of Clearfield and served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the Hyde Fire Company.
His many joys in life were his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed working in his garden, cutting wood, and participating in local stock car racing. In addition, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce A. (Cutler) Ogden, whom he wed September 12, 1953, in Clearfield, four children, Sherry Lynn Grimminger and husband Bob of Clearfield, Bonnie Kay Lupton of Osceola Mills, Daniel Lee Ogden and wife Lisa of Clearfield, Jeffrey John Ogden and wife Terri of Clearfield; 10 grandchildren, Jodi Domico, Angi Lansberry, Mandi Billotte, Jason Selfridge, Danielle Lupton, Katie Lupton, Kylie Ogden, Ronald J. Ogden, II, Tanner Ogden and Travis Ogden; 8 great grandchildren; two sisters, Colleen Gontkovic and husband Al of Clearfield and Mary Edmiston of Largo, FL.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Brandyn Selfridge and Ryan John Ogden.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Michael Shingler officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and Clearfield Veterans of Foreign War Post #1785 Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Friday from 10-11:00 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
