Rose Scruggs

Rose Y. Scruggs, 94, of Mineral Springs died on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Harrisburg Hospital.
She was born on September 24, 1916 in Mineral Springs, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Ebergeny) Sigety.
Mrs. Scruggs retired in 1981 from the former Kent Sportswear after 15 years of service.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Clearfield.
She is survived by five children, William J. Ryan and wife Mary of Curwensville, Robert Scruggs and wife Goretti of Harrisburg, Gail Finney and husband Dale of San Diego, CA, Rosemary Rovine and husband Dan of Hillsborough, NJ and Edith Ryan of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William James Ryan on July 7, 1947 and whom she wed in Philadelphia in 1939 and her second husband Grant Scruggs whom she married in Clearfield in 1953.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Chnupa, Betty Cambria, Helen Chnupa and Margaret Neilsen and a brother Baylo Sigety.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at
11:00 A.M. with Rev. J. Robert Mellgard and Richard B. Barkley officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Saturday from
10-11:00 AM.
