Rose Marie Aveni Unch, 93 of Clearfield died on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Clearfield Hospital.
She was born on April 28, 1914 in Walston, a daughter of the late Antonio and Frances (Lombardo) Aveni.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church and the Catholic Daughters of America Court #498. Mother was a wonderful cook and baker. She delighted in preparing delicious meals for her family. She especially enjoyed baking cookies for all the grandchildren. In her leisure time, she created many beautiful pieces of needlework. She was a very kind, loving and caring person-especially to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by three children, Frances Spingola and husband William of Cicero, NY, Donna Neiswender and husband Fred L. of Clearfield, Jack Joseph Unch and fiancé Terri Strong of Clearfield; six grandchildren, Kara Gilbert of Clay, NY, Frederick M. Neiswender and wife Courtney of Curwensville, Alyson Reilly and husband Daniel of Lawrenceville, GA, Jason R. Unch and wife Michelle of Clearfield, Justin Unch of Clearfield, and Zachary Unch of Clearfield; four great grandchildren, Joseph Gilbert, Kayla Gilbert, Nicholas Unch and Claire Rose Reilly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Unch on February 19, 1980 and whom she married December 2, 1931 in Cumberland, MD; a grandson Jack J. Unch, II in 1987; four brothers, John, Joseph, Frank 'Skin' and Anthony; and seven sisters, Carmella, Mary, Lucy, Angeline, Jeannette, Evelyn and Madeline.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Thursday from 9-9:30 AM.
At the funeral home on Wednesday, a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 1:45 PM and the rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Church, 212 S. Front St., Clearfield PA 16830.
