Rosemary Greenland

September 9, 1927 — July 24, 2006

Rosemary C. Greenland, 78, formerly of Pittsburgh and most recently a resident at Christ the King Manor, DuBois, died on Monday, July 24, 2006 at the home.

She was born on September 9, 1927 in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Hiram and Genevieve (Liegey) Greenland.

Miss Greenland taught in the Pittsburgh public schools until her retirement in 1987.
She received her master's degree in education from the Duquesne University.
She was a member of the Pittsburgh Cathedral where she belonged to the Ladies of Charity and volunteered for many years.
In the winter months, she resided in Florida.

She is survived by four brothers and three sisters, Edward Greenland and wife Susan of West Branch, MI, Francis Greenland and wife Mary Jane of Cleveland, OH, James Greenland and wife Loretta of Frenchville of Matthew Greenland and wife Janice of Rockton, Patricia Geppert and husband John of Mendham, NJ, Lucille Kephart and former husband Dean Kephart of Bradenton, FL, Madonna Claire Anne Greenland of Ebensburg and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Joan Greenland.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville on Friday at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Samuel G. Bungo as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday from 7-9 PM and on Friday from 8:30-9 AM.

A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 8:30 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to charity of one's choice.
