Rosemary K. 'Rose' Hiltner, 76, of Clearfield died on Friday, January 27, 2023 at UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh.
She was born on July 22, 1946 in Philipsburg, a daughter of Dorothy (Greenland) Kowalcyk of Houtzdale and the late Ben Kowalcyk.
Rose was a 1964 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School and a 1967 graduate of the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from the Clearfield Hospital after 20 years of employment. Prior, she was employed in Maryland, Delaware, Mississippi and Louisiana. Rose was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
In addition of her mother Dorothy Kowalcyk of Houtzdale, she is survived by her significant other of 18 years, Thomas Swank of Clearfield; a brother, John Kowalcyk and wife Janice of Madera; a sister, Carol Kowalcyk of Clearfield; and three nieces, Jamie Bainey and husband Greg, Kristi Reader and husband Don, and Lauren Peachman and husband Jeff.
Rose was preceded in death by her father, Ben Kowalcyk in 2003; her husband, Charles L. Hiltner Jr. in 1990 and whom she wed in 1975; and an infant daughter, Allison Marie Hiltner in 1980.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Friday at 12:30 PM with Fr. Robert Horgas as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Barbara's Polish National Catholic Cemetery, Ramey.
Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Friday from 10 AM - Noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Young People Who Care, PO Box 129, Frenchville, PA 16836.
