Rosemary A. Hryn, 85, of Curwensville died on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born on November 28, 1927 in Curwensville, a daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Quigley) McKeown.
Mrs. Hryn was a homemaker most of her life, having also been employed at Bell Telephone, Clearfield, Cameron Manufacturing, Reynoldsville and the Airplane Marine Plant. She was also involved with the Chestnut Ridge homemakers group.
She was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, active in a Bible Study Group and taught catechism classes for several years.
She is survived by five children, Kirby Hryn and wife Cathy of Clearfield, Patrick Hryn and wife Sandra of Rockton, Mary Susan Hryn of Curwensville, John Hryn and wife Cindy of Grampian and Robert Hryn and wife Cathy of Curwensville; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister Luella Witherow of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Hryn on November 11, 2005 and whom she wed September 7, 1956 in Sykesville. She was also preceded in death by four sisters Helen Gehret, Margaret Nyce, Elizabeth Heindl and Marie Allison; and two brothers James and Clair F. McKeown.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville, on Wednesday at 1:30 PM with Father Mark A. Mastrian as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Tuesday from 5-8 PM and on Wednesday from 11-1 PM.
At the funeral home on Tuesday, the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM and a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 7:45PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Timothy Catholic Church Rosary and Altar Society, 306 Walnut Street, Curwensville.
