Ruth Ann Ireland, 84, of Curwensville passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born on May 16, 1940 in Bloom Township, a daughter of the late Clarence 'Bud' and Ida (Thompson) Thomas.
Ruth worked as a Therapeutic Activity Aid for 8 years at Fayette Resources where she retired from in 2007. She also worked for the Clearfield Hospital as a Home Health and Hospice Aid for 9 years, and worked for the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging.
She was a member of the former St. Paul United Methodist Church, Grampian.
She is survived by her husband, Clair A. Ireland whom she wed August 21, 1959 in Rockton; three sons, Thomas Ireland and wife Cindy of Curwensville, Bradley Ireland and wife Carol of Curwensville, and Scott Ireland and wife Crystal of Curwensville; four grandchildren, Chelsea Wertz and husband Brock, Courtney Ireland and companion Justin Owens, Kris Ireland and wife Holly, and Brandon Sass; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Wertz, and Aniyah Sass; and two brothers, Clarence 'Buddy' Thomas of Westover, and Roger Thomas and companion Darlene Schall of Clearfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Ireland; and her sister, Karen L. Mathews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December, 14 2024 at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church, Curwensville.
Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield is in charge of the arrangements.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the organization of the donor's choice.
