Ruth J. Jordan, 84, of Woodland passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, February 19, 2021 at her home.
She was born on June 2, 1936 in Dale, a daughter of the late Dean and Frances (Houser) English.
Mrs. Jordan started out working at Kurtz Brothers Factory, and later became an owner at Jordan's Gas and Grocery and Jordan Trucking. She loved antiques and spending time at the river.
She was a life-long member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, George Andrew Jordan Jr. whom she wed November 9, 1951 at Lake Street United Methodist Church, Woodland; two sons, Drew Jordan (Michele) of Reedsville, and Mike Jordan (Linda) of St. Johns, MI; a daughter, Beth Ann Nordberg (Tom) of Beaver, WV; nine grandchildren, Terry Jordan, Dr. Erin Jordan, Andy Jordan, Audrey Jo Jordan, Megan Jordan, Paris Jordan, Jeana Mitterling (Brian), and Jordan Segwick (Steve); four great-grandchildren, Brooke Jackson (Jon), Trey Jordan, Milly Sedgwick, and Maxwell Sedgwick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest English and Joe English; and two sisters, Jayne Johnson and Sonda Werba. Ruth was the last surviving member of her family.
Honoring Mrs. Jordan's wishes, there will be no public services.
Memorial contributions can be made to choice of the donor.
