Ruth H. Laws, 95, of Clearfield died on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Clearfield Hospital.
She was born on June 6, 1916 in Swannanoa, NC, a daughter of the late James and Ella Lytle.
Mrs. Laws was employed as a cook for the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging and also a babysitter for the family of Mrs. Ann Law.
She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Clearfield, the United Methodist Women and the Patriotic Order of America.
She is survived by a daughter, Martha Lynch and husband Paul of Clearfield; two grandsons, Dan Lynch and wife Phyllis of Clearfield and Don Lynch and wife Jaime of State College; eight great grandchildren, Karah, Ryan, Jaidon, Emily, Taye and Kai Lynch and Nicholas and Christopher Osborn; a sister, Annabelle Daniels and husband Rufus of NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Fortune, and her second husband, Oscar Laws; six brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Tuesday at 11 AM with Rev. Mark S. Brower officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Tuesday from 10-11 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 1010 Dorey Street, Clearfield or charity of one's choice.
