Ruth Miller

Ruth A. Miller, 92, of Clearfield died on Monday, August 13, 2007 at the Clearfield Colonial Courtyard.

She was born on March 30, 1915 in Hegins, a daughter of the late Isaac Emanuel and Cora Agnes (Klinger) Kissinger.

Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and also was employed at Kurtz Bros. in Clearfield for 16 years.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield where she sang in the choir and played in the bell choir. She was a Sunday school teacher, served on church council and held all of the offices in the Lutheran Church Women. She also was a member of the church’s Friendship Club and Class 10.
In addition, she was a member of the Clearfield Woman's Club and the Clearfield Hospital Auxiliary where she assisted with the hospital chaplaincy program and the hospital gift shop.
She delivered meals on wheels.

She is survived by her husband, Charles S. Miller, Sr. whom she wed June 2, 1934 in Pottsville, Four Children, Shirley R. Keller and husband Charles of Antioch, CA, Barbara A. Pentz and husband Glenn of Grampian, Rev. Charles S. Miller, Jr and wife Gail Wagner of Chicago, IL and Alyce A. Sutika and husband Andrew of DuBois; Eleven Grandchildren, Glenn Pentz, Jr. and wife Cynthia, Debra Yarger and husband Chris,
Charles Keller, Jr., Curtis Keller and wife Dawnell, Jennifer Sheckells and husband Stefan, Lara Neary and husband Frank, Shane Pentz and wife Laura, Cynthia Loyd and husband Steve, Bradley Pentz and wife Jessica, Erin Horne and husband David, and Kristin Ondrak and husband Christopher, Seventeen Great-Grandchildren, Brittany Keller, Christopher Yarger, Jr., Matthew Pentz, Amanda Keller, Andrew Starr, Shannon Yarger, Taylor Pentz, Anthony Starr, Alec Starr, Nicholas Loyd, Kyle Neary, Sarah Loyd, Soren Sheckells, Savannah Loyd, Samuel Sheckells, Owen Loyd, Graycen Horne; Half Sister Joyce Morgan and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by fourteen brothers and sisters and five half brothers and half sisters.

A memorial service will be held at the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Matthew C. Holbert officiating.

Friends will be received at the church on Friday from 10-11:00 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to ELCA World Hunger Fund, 8765 West Higgins Rd, Chicago, IL, 60631 or to St. John Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 217 E. Pine Street, Clearfield.
