Ryan Craig Wingate, 21, of Clearfield died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at his home.
Ryan was a lifelong resident of Clearfield. He was the beloved son of Linda D. (Rees) Wingate and Allen R. Wilson.
Grieving siblings include, Christopher T. Wingate of Clearfield, Sarah B. Wingate of Stafford, VA, Jennifer Campolong, Lori Murphy, Michelle Wilson and Josh Wilson all of Clearfield.
Ryan is the grandson of Glenn and Mona Rees, formerly of Clearfield, the great nephew of Larry S. Davis of Clearfield, a nephew of Pamala Rees of New Orleans, LA, Kathy Davis of Fremont, OH, Sandra Edwards of Gypsum, OH, Tawni Schwochow of Fremont, OH and Laura Manahan of Columbus, OH. He is survived by 27 cousins.
He was particularly close to his family especially nephew Jakob Wingate, as well as cousins Brock Davis of Green Springs, OH, Ken Davis of Clearfield and Matt and Jody Solomon of Port Clinton, OH along with close family friend Dina Dreistadt, having enjoyed many joyful times in each other's company throughout his life.
Ryan was attending DuBois Business School, enrolled in the John Russo Movie Making curriculum. Ryan was very talented and published several videos, including a music video and commercials on the web based You Tube. He recently made his grandparents, Glenn and Mona Rees a tribute to their 55 years of marriage. Christmas was a time of great joy during his life prompting a video of Christmas lights and decorations this year.
He graduated from Clearfield High School in 2004, playing football, baseball and basketball during his school years.
Ryan enjoyed many sports and participated in the Clearfield Crew Fantasy Football league winning the coveted trophy in 2006.
He was a member of Twin Oaks Camp, Sproul State Forest, participating in many 'manly' activities with friends and family mainly learning to win at poker and tell 'lies' from the other members of the camp.
Ryan was influential in his nephews and young cousins' lives teaching them sports and tree climbing in the family back yard. His family, whose lives will never be the same because of this loss, treasure the times spent together sharing the years, hours and days of memories they hold so dear.
Preceding Ryan in death were his beloved grandparents, Rexall and Audrey Davis, Haydn and Betty Rees an aunt Tracey Rees Lawson.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 10-11:00 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 541 Graham Station Road, Phillipsburg, PA 16866.
