Salvatore "Sam" Falvo, 90
of 902 Cumberland Street, Clearfield died on Sunday, September 22, 2002 at his residence.
He was born on October 18, 1911 in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of the late John and Anna (Emanuel) Falvo.
Mr. Falvo was employed by Switch and Signal Co. in California, where he served as a union official. He later retired from RCA in California.
While living in Pittsburgh and California he performed with his band Sammy Falvo's Band.
He was a union organizer for the AFL-CIO and was a member of the Musician's Union in Pittsburgh. He also belonged to St. Francis Catholic Church in Clearfield and the Keenage Kitchen Kombo Band at the Clearfield Senior Citizen Center.
In 1995 he was named 'Father of the Year'.
He is survived by his wife, Thursa M. (Tibbens) Falvo, whom he married April 28, 1984 in Granada Hills, CA

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Jenny (Capo) Falvo in September of 1983 and whom he married on April 27, 1934, brothers Anthony, Dominick, Joseph, John, William and Frank and sisters Sara, Mary and Bridgette.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Friday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde, PA.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Friday from 9-9:30 AM
The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield County Senior Citizen Center, 103 N. Front Street, Clearfield or Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 S. Front Street, Clearfield.
