Samuel P. Bachelier, 89, of Grampian went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2022 at his home.
He was born on July 29, 1933 in Curwensville, a son of the late Harry P. and Marion (Kendall) Bachelier.
Mr. Bachelier was a partner with Walter Hopkins and Co. from where he retired. He attended the First Baptist Church of Curwensville and was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Noble Lodge #480 of Curwensville. He and his wife were also members of the Willys Overland Jeepster Club and the Midstates Jeepster Club. Sam took great pride and joy working his garden and tending to other outdoor chores that needed done. Along with his, they immensely enjoyed traveling.
He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the Army Reserves and was then again called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel Paul Bachelier and wife Sherry of Grampian, and David Paul Bachelier and wife Wendy of Kittaning; three grandchildren, Meredith Slee and husband Evan of Kittaning, Courtney Undercofler and husband Zachary of Punxsutawney, and Matthew Paul Bachelier and wife Marissa of Sarver; six great grandchildren, Oliver, Eve, Elsie, Cecily, Viola, and Kate; and a sister, Helen Bonsall of Alexander, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace (Irwin) Bachelier on May 26, 2021; a son, Donald Paul Bachelier; two brothers, Phillip and Raymond Bachelier; and three sisters, Kathryn Peretti, Rebecca Garner, and Janet Phillips.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Curwensville on Wednesday at 11 AM with Rev. Daniel M. Osterhout officiating. Interment will be in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Curwensville on Tuesday from 4-8 PM and at church on Wednesday from 10-11 AM.
