Samuel L. Welder, 85, of Grampian died on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born on April 11, 1937 in Luthersburg, a son of the late Oliver and Lucy (Walburn) Welder.
Mr. Welder had been employed by Krause Lumber Company for twenty years and prior to that, at the Keiser Lumber Company for ten years.
He was Methodist by faith and a lifetime member of the Mahaffey Fire Company and also a member of the Grampian-Penn-Bloom Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly A. Welder of Grampian; a son, Lee Welder of Curwensville; two step children, Gerald Thompson of OH, and Debra Condon of Curwensville; eight grandchildren; four step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; a brother, Paul Welder of DuBois; and two sisters, Ruth Wright of Clearfield and Louise Welder of Grampian.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Gregory Thompson; a brother, Ken Welder; and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Curwensville on Friday at 11 AM with David Luzier officiating. Interment will be in the Wood Cemetery, Grampian.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 9-11 AM.
