Sara J. Hamm, 79
of 642 Filbert Street, Curwensville died on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at her residence.
She was born on November 18, 1923 in Curwensville, a daughter of the late Hugh and Mary Elizabeth (Dillon) Appleton.
Mrs. Hamm was employed as a jig loader for the former Airplane Marine in Curwensville and was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Curwensville.
She is survived by three children,
John S. Hamm and wife Marilyn Grampian
Ferne Kisner and husband Thomas Woodland
Sharon Fales and husband David Apollo Beach, FL
five grandchildren,
Timothy K. Moore, Valerie A. Stephens, Sally Jo Olson, Erin R. Olson and Shannon L. Hamm
six great grandchildren,
Keith Michael Moore, James L. Moore, Sandra Ashleigh Moore, Joshua A. Stephens, Skylar Braxton Stephens and Haillie Jean Stephens
a sister,
Geraldine Bloom Curwensville
and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Hamm on May 21, 1995 and whom she married August 19, 1946 in Clearfield, brothers Hugh, Miles, Joseph, John and Ivan Appleton and sisters Mary Appleton, Wava Straw and Dorothy Graham.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with Pastoral Leader Richard Steuernagle officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville, RD.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 - 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from
10-11 AM.
