Shelia Capatch

Shelia B. Capatch, 83, of Clearfield, died on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.

She was born on March 17, 1941 in Grampian, a daughter of the late John W. and Ann Mary (Gannon) Rafferty.

Mrs. Capatch was a loving wife to her devoted husband, Jim, for 65 years. She dearly loved her children and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren Mrs. Capatch retired as a manager at Sears after 30 years of employment. She was then a Senior Consultant with Mary Kay, starting in 1993. She was involved with the Clearfield Community Concert Association, a charter member of the Clearfield Choral Society, a member of the Mountain Laurel Auxiliary, and a member of the Clearfield NON Club.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield where she was a member of the church choir and the Rosary and Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband, James J. Capatch whom she wed July 25, 1959 in Grampian; three children, Steven Capatch and wife Gail of Puyallup, WA, Colleen Cook and husband Dr. Thomas of Dillsburg, and Kevin Capatch and wife Diane of Lewisburg; seven grandchildren, Jamie Capatch and wife Lydia Sharrad, Brent Capatch and wife Leia, Janelle Cox and husband Dan, Brad Capatch and wife April, Adam Capatch and fiance Bria Edwards, David Capatch, and Dr. Thomas Cook and wife Emily; six great grandchildren, Charlize, Caedmon, Elizabeth, Aaron, Lucas, and Asher; a sister, Christine McCafferty of Puyallup, WA; two sisters-in-law; Maureen Raffery, and Ann Marie Welch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Regis Rafferty; and infant brother; and a sister, Mary Ogden.

Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Monday at 10 AM with Fr. Robert Horgas as celebrant. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 S. Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
