Shirley Shaffer

Shirley Ann Shaffer , 79, of Tonawanda, NY, and formerly of Frenchville, died on Friday, May 17, 2013 at her home.
She was born on October 14, 1933 in Frenchville, a daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Valimont) Dunlap.
Mrs. Shaffer was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family. She was also a representative for Avon for several years. In addition, she enjoyed making various crafts out of leather and tending to her garden. Mrs. Shaffer was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School, class of 1951. and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville.
She is survived by her husband, William Shaffer; a daughter, Kristina Marie Noworyta and husband Mark of Tonawanda, NY; and two grandchildren Sarah Ann and Jeffrey William Noworyta.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Arlene Swales.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Frenchville on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Rev. David A. Perry Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday from 4-8 PM and at church on Tuesday from 10-11 AM.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice Foundation of Western NY, 225 Como Park Boulevard, Buffalo, NY 14227.
