Sophia Dorothy Wisor, 92 of Hyde died on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
She was born on May 5, 1915 in Hyde, a daughter of the late Steve and Sophia (Bellai) Haversack.
Mrs. Wisor was formerly employed at Dumont Airplane and Marine Co., Kent's Sportswear and the Penn Laurel Motel.
She also participated in various fairs for over 35 years in the family businesses, the Candy Wagon and Tilt's Beef on a Camel Wick Bun.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and the ladies auxiliaries of both the John Branic Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post #8822 in Madera and the Hyde Fire Co.
In addition, she served as a clerk during the elections at the Hyde precinct polls.
She is survived by a son, Walter C. Haversack and wife Patricia of Hyde; six grandchildren, Cynthia Louise Milligan of Clearfield, Andrew Steve "Mike" Haversack and wife Barbara of Glen Richey, Theresa Ann Welch and husband Joseph of Hyde, Dorothy Marie Dunlap and husband Clyde of Philipsburg, Wanda Mary Johnston and husband Jack of Clearfield and Timothy James Haversack of Coraopolis; 13 great-grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Anne Cathcart of Curwensville and Irene Hudson of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Wisor in March of 1969 and whom she married May 19, 1934 in Maryland.
She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Leroy Haversack, Clara Streke, John Haversack, Frank Haversack, Mary Haversack, Agnes Duckett, Andrew Haversack, Steve Haversack and Charles Haversack.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 5-8 pm and on Saturday from 9-9:30 am.
A Christian vigil service will be recited at the funeral home on Friday at 4:45 pm.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Catholic Church, 212 S. Front St., Clearfield PA 16830.
