Steve Shanechuck

Steve Shanechuck, 81

of 412 Bigler Ave., Clearfield died on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at Clearfield Hospital.

He was born on September 1, 1923 in Madera RD, a son of the late Egnot and Annie (Zedack) Shanechuck.

Mr. Shanechuck was formerly employed at RD Goss where he served as a caretaker and maintenance supervisor. He also worked for Clearfield Dairy, various construction companies and had been a coalminer and lumberman.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
While serving in the US Army during WW II in Co. A, 56th Armored Engineer Battalion he fought in the Battle of the Bulge with the 'Thunderbolts'.

He is survived by his wife, Helen R. (Pawlukovich) Shanechuck, whom he married September 25, 1954 in Ramey, PA

and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Paul Shanechuck and three sisters, Martha Keith, Rose Mislosky and Mary Kowalsky.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Friday at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield VFW and American Legion Posts Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday from
2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Friday from 9 – 9:30 AM.

A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 3:45 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 S. Front Street, Clearfield or to the charity of one's choice.
