Thelma L. "Weezie" Bowes, 72, of Clearfield, died Thursday, December 15, 2005 at Clearfield Hospital.

Born March 29, 1933 at Litz Bridge, Clearfield, she was a daughter of the late J. Franklin and Madeline (McMullen) Stegner.

Mrs. Bowes was a homemaker. Prior to her marriage she was employed by the former Clearfield Furs.

She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Clearfield where she participated in the church's Sunday school, the Women's Society, and the Choir. She was also a member of the church’s Administrative Board and served on the board of trustees. In addition, she sang with the “Make a Joyful Noise" group.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur S. Bowes, whom she married September 4, 1953 in Emmanuel Methodist Church, Clearfield,
two daughters, Connie Wright and husband Doug and Brenda Bowes, all of Clearfield; three grandchildren, Kim, Doug and Katie, two sisters, Anna Bloom and Elinor Demi and husband Lewis, all of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers Joseph, Jim and Jack Stegner.

Funeral services will be held at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Virginia Eminhizer officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 6-8:00 PM and at the church on Saturday from 10-11 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 1010 Dorey Street, Clearfield, or the American Cancer Society, 119 East Market Street, Clearfield PA.
