Thelma Marrara

Thelma F. Marrara, 98, of Clearfield died on Monday, September 17, 2007 at her residence.

She was born on February 15, 1909 in Curwensville, a daughter of the late Irvin E. and Bessie L. (Ulrich) Moore.

Mrs. Marrara, along with her husband, owned and operated the Clearfield Distributing Co. from 1945 until her retirement in 1979. During WW II she was employed by Virginia Barrel Co.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield and the Martha Washington Lodge #1525 Clearfield.

She is survived by a son, Joseph F. Marrara and wife Barbara of Clearfield; four grandchildren, Cindy Bogacki and husband Dennis, Patricia Aughenbaugh, Sharron McBride and husband Dave and William J. Marrara; seven great grandchildren, Travis, Mindi, Amanda, Jennifer, Mike, Alycia and Kaitlyn; four great great grandchildren, Isaiah, Elijah, Treysahn and Savanna; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Marrara on April 5, 1994 and whom she wed December 21, 1929 in Staten Island, NY, two sisters Helen Armfield and Hazel 'Peggy' Humphries and a brother-in-law Bill Humphries.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Friday at 10 a.m. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Friday from 9-9:30 AM.

A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:45 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Lung Association of Northwest PA, 352 West 8th Street, Erie PA 16502 or charity of one's choice.
