Thelma L. Smeal, 76
of Clearfield died on Thursday, August 14, 2003 at her residence.
She was born on August 18, 1926 in Clearfield, PA, a daughter of the late William C. and Ada E. (Bell) Boyce.
Mrs. Smeal had been employed at the former Cigar Factory, the former Penshire, St. Charles Cafe, was a matron at the Clearfield County Jail, a school bus driver and was a van driver for the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging.
She is survived by three daughters,

11 grandchildren, including James D. Smeal, whom she and her husband raised,
20 great-grandchildren,
and a brother
William M. Boyce Clearfield
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Smeal on October 19, 1988 and whom she married on December 19, 1946 in West Decatur, two infant sons and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Monday at
11:00 A.M. with Rev. Michael G. Trimmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Bigler Cemetery, Bigler.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4:00 & 7-9:00 PM and on Monday from 10-11:00 AM.
