Theodore V. 'Ted' Rowles, 94, of Mineral Springs died on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born on February 24, 1927 in Mineral Springs, a son of the late George and Viola (Maines) Rowles.
Mr. Rowles retired from the Harbison Walker Refractory after 32 1/2 years of employment. He had also operated Montgomery Ward, Clearfield for 18 years. Mr. Rowles enjoyed being out in the woods hunting or tending his family garden.
He was a lifetime member of the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post No. 1785 and the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6. Mr. Rowles was also a former member of the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812
Mr. Rowles served with the U. S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by three sons, Richard Thomas Rowles and wife Cynthia of New Castle, Theodore Allen Rowles Sr. and companion Brenda Coulter of Glen Richey, and John David Rowles and wife Darlene of Clearfield; eleven grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois J. (Ruffner) Rowles on February 5, 2015. He was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Laura Ann Rowles; and a sister, Gussie Flood.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Tuesday at 11 AM with Sam Maines officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Clearfield.
Military honors will be accorded at cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 PM and on Tuesday from 10-11 AM.
