Theodore F. "Ted" Selvage, 61 of Clearfield died on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on July 22, 1948 in Philipsburg, a son of Ella Marie (Yingling) Selvage of Philipsburg and the late John R. Selvage.
Mr. Selvage was employed at Glen Gery Brickyard, Bigler, for 26 years before retiring in 2008.
He and his wife served as foster parents for Clearfield County for 17 years. He was an assistant coach for the St. Francis baseball team as well as Clearfield little league baseball and coached youth recreational soccer. Mr. Selvage was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield. He devoted his life to his children and grandchildren and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Selvage was also an avid softball player for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Fran (Lombardo) Selvage, whom he wed September 5, 1967 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield,

a brother and sister,
Jeff Selvage and wife Sharon of Boalsburg
Edie Selvage and fiance Jeff Peters of Clearfield
and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Saturday at 10 AM with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday from 5-8 PM and on Saturday from 9-9:30 AM.
A Christian Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 4:45 PM.
