Trina Mae Shirey, 62, of Woodland let go of the hands of her loving family surrounding her and took the hands of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021.
Born Feb. 28, 1958 in Tacoma, Wash., she was the daughter of the late James Blair and Edna Doreen (Rodgers) Wisor.
She was a graduate of the Clearfield High School in the class of 1976 and most recently employed as an electrical pro at Lowe’s, Clearfield, until retiring in March of 2020.
Trina was a devout member of the Gospel Chapel of Clearfield County and passionate about the church’s missions in Africa and Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection.
She helped with the Vacation Bible School program many years ago and also served as a Sunday school teacher and church treasurer.
She enjoyed sewing and crocheting as well as crafting with and hosting tea parties for her grandchildren.
Trina’s survived by her loving and faithful husband of 43 years, Raymond W. “Fuzzy” Shirey of Woodland and to whom she was wed Nov. 25,1977.
She’s survived by three children, Jessica Shirey of Clearfield, Desiree Flisock and her husband, Andrew of Lawrenceville, Pa., and Ryan “Little Fuzz” Shirey and his wife, Maridawn of Woodland.
She’s survived by five grandchildren, Mattie, Raylee and William “Fuzzball” Shirey of Woodland and Cadence and Cash Flisock of Lawrenceville, Pa.
Trina’s also survived by siblings, Shirley Heichel, Steven Wisor, Brenda Irwin, Alice Ostrofski, Dulcey “Okey” Wisor and Linda Kline as well as numerous other close friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Samery.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Gospel Chapel of Clearfield County, Woodland, with Pastors W. Lee Casher and Mick Patton co-officiating.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Trina will be laid to rest in Shiloh Cemetery, Woodland.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all Trina’s friends and family who helped care for and visited with her over the past several months.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions be made to the Gospel Chapel (Africa or Operation Christmas Child missions) or the ALS Association, Western PA Chapter.
