Turi Davis

Turi P. Davis, 88, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

She was born on December 17, 1921 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah (Dipiazzo) Macaluso.

Mrs. Davis was a homemaker. She was previously employed in the kitchen at the Clearfield Hospital and also previously employed for Kurtz Brothers.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, the Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 498, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6, the Martha Washington Lodge No. 1525 and the St. Francis Altar and Rosary Society.
She served in the US Army during WW II.

She is survived by five children, Terry Davis and wife Betsy of Olny, MD, John Davis and wife Carole of Clearfield, Jennifer Stewart and husband Michael of Williamsburg, VA, Patrick Davis and wife Tamie of Bayonet Point, FL and Pamela Frisco of Harrisburg; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Salvatore of Lewistown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Davis on March 17, 1999 and whom she married November 3, 1945 in Norfolk, VA, and two sisters, Rose Messina and Mary Grace Vezza.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield on Monday at10:00 AM with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts' Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Sunday from 4 – 8:00 PM and on Monday from 9 – 9:30 AM.

A Christian vigil service will be recited at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:45 PM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association - Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 100 W. Station Square Dr., Suite 500, Pittsburgh PA 15219.
