U. Louise Gardner, 82 of Clearfield died on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Clearfield Hospital.
She was born on June 17, 1926 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (Evans) Gardner.
Ms. Gardner retired in 1979 from the US Federal Government, Washington, D.C. where she was employed for 37 years as a research writer.
She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She served on Clearfield Borough Council, the Clearfield Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered at the Clearfield Hospital.
She is survived by three brothers,
Charles F. "Stub" Gardner and wife Mary Jane "Ted" of Clearfield
Richard L. Gardner and wife Wava of Clearfield
Jack H. Gardner and wife Judy of Clearfield
numerous nieces and nephews, including Betsy Buck with whom she lived,
several great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elsa Mae Buck, a brother, Ward Gardner and a great great nephew, Matthew.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday, at
1:00 PM with Rev. Rodger J. Gorton officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 12-1 PM.
