Virginia Weisgarber

Virginia M. (Rea) "Ginny" Weisgarber, 84

of Grampian died on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital.

She was born on October 5, 1927 in Bells Landing, a daughter of the late Herman and Mable (Daisher) Hess.

Mrs. Weisgarber previously worked at The Progress office in Curwensville.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Grampian and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Curwensville VFW Robert Ferguson Post No. 842. She also was involved with the boys and girls of the community through scouting and was a longtime member of the Election Board of Penn Township.

She is survived by her husband, John C. (Cal) Weisgarber, Sr., whom she wed January 17, 1995 in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Grampian.

She is also survived by two daughters and a son, Colleen Luzier of Mineral Springs, Judy London of Charlotte, NC, Ronald 'Dak' Rea of Clearfield, a step-daughter, Mrs. Michael (Gretchen) Dunlap of Olanta, four grandchildren, Zachary Young, Jed, Jessica and Justin Luzier, five great grandchildren, Paige, Shayna, Eden, Aiden and Jakob and a brother, Bill Hess of Carnwath.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband John Rea, Jr, a son John 'Dak' Rea, III in 1982, a sister Midge Clapsaddle and two brothers, Stanley and Leslie Hess.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville with Rev. Emmett Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Orphans of the Storm, % Peggy Sass 223 Hill Street, Curwensville or to the SPCA, 541 Graham Station Road, Philipsburg or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
