Vivien Weaver

February 14, 1941 — January 26, 2025

Vivien Marie Weaver, age 83, of Dover, Delaware passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025. She was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Sarah Margaret (Dempsey) and John Frank Newton. She was blessed to be born into a loving family. Vivien made many lifelong friendships which were a testament to her kind, fun loving, and adventurous personality. She enjoyed spending quality time with those that she loved and brought joy to many. The trademark twinkle in her eye always let others know she had a funny story to share or was ready for an adventure.

After marrying the love of her life, Samuel Richard Weaver Sr., the two of them started a family and were blessed with five amazing children. The Weavers moved around from Northeast Pennsylvania, to central Pennsylvania, Illinois, and New Hampshire as dictated by Sam's work assignments. Wherever they lived, the Weaver home was always the fun place to be. This was largely fueled by Vivien's wonderful sense of humor which continued in her children's personalities as well. She was a practical joker and loved good natured teasing. Vivien was devoted to her family as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She also remained close with her siblings throughout her life. Vivien enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales and antiquing. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening as well. Vivien was an animal lover and was always feeding the birds and other wildlife. She loved caring for many beautiful house plants over her lifetime.

Vivien's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She looked forward to holiday get-togethers and gathering with her loved ones to eat, play games, and share stories. Vivien had a strong character and spirit. She maintained her zest for life in the midst of many hardships. She faced much grief and sorrow in her life due to the loss of her husband and three of her children. Vivien encouraged many others who also experienced loss over the years. She holds a special place in the hearts of so many who were blessed to know and love her. Vivien will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

She is survived by her children: Samuel Richard Weaver Jr., and Suzanne Vivien Aungst (David Charles Aungst); her sons-in-law: Scott Timothy Brady and Kenny Peters; her siblings: Marlene Clark, Margaret Mason (Jay), and Ricky Newton; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Vivien was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Samuel Richard Weaver Sr.; her precious children: Sharon Marie Brady, David Allen Weaver, and Christine Gail Peters; her brothers: Franklin Newton (Marge), James Newton (Pat), and David Newton; and her brother-in-law, Bruce Clark.
