Walter L. Davis, 56, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born on April 8, 1951 in Waltham, MA, a son of Myra (Shaw) Davis of Clearfield and the late Groff N. Davis

Mr. Davis was a 1969 graduate of the Clearfield Area High School and a graduate of Philipsburg Nursing School and the Hamot Anesthia School.
He was employed as a nurse anesthetist for 30 years at the Clearfield Hospital.
He was a member of The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield where he served as an elder.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Barbara L.(Berry) Davis, whom he wed February 8, 1980 in Clearfield; two daughters, Megan Scheloski and husband Chris of DuBois and Emily Davis of State College; two grandsons, Ty and Jay; two brothers, Groff N. Davis, Jr. and wife Ann of Lebanon and Mark D. Davis and wife Melanie of West Decatur; and a sister, Elizabeth J. 'Betsy' Olbrich and husband Greg of Apex, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at The Presbyterian Church, Clearfield on Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Daniel T. Ledford officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM and at the church on Friday from 10- 11:00 AM.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second Street, Clearfield PA 16830, the Leukemia Society of America, Western PA Chapter, 2 Gateway Center, Pittsburgh PA 15222 or to the St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 S. Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
