Wilbur Lines, Sr.

Wilbur E. Lines Sr., 86

of Clearfield died on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at Clearfield Hospital.

He was born on February 13, 1917 in Curwensville, a son of the late Harry Lines and Nora (Wertz) Lines Ellinger.

Mr. Lines was employed in several industries during his career, working as a coal miner, a truck driver with the brickyards and on the ships docked in Lake Erie. He also worked in highway construction and as a self employed house painter.
He was a member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6, the F. Michael Sicks Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #1785 of Clearfield, the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard and a life member of the Second Ward Fire Company.
A veteran of the US Army, he served during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret L. (Luce) Lines, whom he married May 18, 1936 in Clearfield,

and numerous nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Orville, John, Elmer, Ruben, Richard, Melvin and Monroe and a sister Maxine .

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday at
10:00 A.M. with Rev. Michael Shingler officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
