William Bloom, 78
of R.D.#1, Curwensville died on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at the Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on February 5, 1924 in New Millport, PA, a son of the late Perch and Dorothy L. (Wise) Bloom.
Mr. Bloom retired as an electrician from the former Clearfield Cheese Company after many years of employment. Mr. Bloom was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Curwensville. He was a member of the former Bear Run Hunting Club, Robert Ferguson Post #842 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Curwensville and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He served in the Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart for his service.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth M. (Rowles) Bloom, whom he married March 7, 1945 at the Curwensville United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James Bloom and his sister Alice Blasovski.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Friday at
2:00 P.M. with Rev. Stephen D. Shields officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Olanta.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville on Thursday
from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Friday from 1-2:00 PM
