William G. Caldwell, 69, of Woodland died on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on July 25, 1951 in Clearfield, a son of the late William H. and Eunice M. (Anderson) Caldwell.
Mr. Caldwell graduated from the Clearfield Area High School in 1969 and then earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University. He had been employed as a welder in steel construction, working for A.W. Kifer, John Lansberry, and retired from Reich Drill in Philipsburg. One of his most favorite things to do was to attend his grandsons little league and teener league baseball games. Also in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and had a love for civil war history. Mr. Caldwell served with the U. S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon (Kifer) Caldwell whom he wed on June 3, 1972; three daughters, Melissa Caldwell of Altoona, Courtney Mikesell and husband Robert of Clearfield, and Jamie Caldwell of Clearfield; seven grandchildren, Justyn Knepp, Tyler Knepp, Kylie Allen and husband Tyler, Kaedyn Caldwell, Raegan Mikesell, Derrick Mikesell, and Kailynn Sankey; three great grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Beausinger and husband Dave; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Caldwell; and an infant granddaughter, Karleigh Caldwell.
Funeral services will be held at the Beardsley Funeral Home and Crematory, Clearfield on Wednesday at 1:00 pm with Greg Belinda officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Clearfield with Pastor Todd Hogue officiating.
Military honors will be accorded at cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 AM - 1 PM.
