William E. Crites, 86, of Hyde died on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born on August 6, 1935 in Ravenna, OH, a son of the late Mabel Crites and also raised by his grandfather, Aaron Crites.
Mr. Crites was employed at George Simcox Company. Prior to that, he worked for Stuttler Leasing for 30 years. Mr. Crites enjoyed woodworking and was a 'jack of all trades'.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Gearhart) Crites; three children, Edward Lee Crites and wife Sharon of Akron, OH, Carl Allen Crites and wife Barb of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and Desiree Jean Welker of Woodland, PA; a stepdaughter, C. Melissa 'Missy' Sell and husband Jeff of Glen Richey; a sister, Vera Hoover and husband James of Cape Coral, FL; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Shook; and several brothers and sisters.
As per Mr. Crites wishes, there will be no public services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Orphans of the Storm, c/o Peggy Sass, 412 Hill Street, Curwensville, PA 16833.
