William Lucas

William Lee Lucas, 70, of Hyde died on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at his residence.

He was born on November 26, 1935 in Bells Landing, a son of the late Raymond Robert and Ethel Lora (Temple) Lucas.

Mr. Lucas was employed as a truck driver and mechanic for several companies including Interstate Amecite, Peerless Transport and Brown Brothers.

He served in the U.S. Army reserves and was a member of the F. Michael Sicks Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1785, Clearfield and the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #812. In addition he was a lifetime member of the Hyde Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Curwensville Fireman’s Club.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Virginia (Mitchell) Lucas, whom he wed July 15, 1967 in Hyde, five children, Beverly Weller of GA, Pamela Haversack of NC, Peggy Jean Clark of SC, Russell Wayne Lucas of SC, and Jody Kulakowski of Punxsutawney, two step children, James Mitchell of NY and Daniel Mitchell of Hyde; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Lucas of IN; and several half brothers and half sisters

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Darwin Lucas, four brothers and two sisters James, Arthur, Gary, John, Edna and Maimee and several half brothers and half sisters.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
